NORTHFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - One person is dead after a pickup truck burst into flames in Northfield last week, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s office.

Duane Schillemat, 65, of Munsonville, N.H. was believed to be driving a pickup truck on Gulf Road in Northfield Thursday afternoon when it left the roadway and hit a tree.

The vehicle caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames.

Schillemat was pronounced dead at the scene and was the only person in the vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
