New Pontoosuc Lake Park shrubs won't impact fishing access, officials say

PITTSFIELD — As debate over shoreline access at Pontoosuc Lake Park continues, city officials are moving ahead with additional wetland restoration work.
Following approval from the Conservation Commission, more than 50 buttonbush shrubs have been planted near the newly constructed boardwalk.
Vegetation, like these ferns, that was inadvertently mowed down earlier in the season has come back in the wetland at the former beach area at Pontoosuc Lake.
