North Adams man sentenced to life for 2022 murder of wife

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A North Adams man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after his wife was found dead in 2022, according to the Berkshire District Attorney’s office.
On May 28, Luis Rosado went with Jillian Tatro to her apartment on Charles Street in North Adams. Law enforcement believed that Rosado, 53, killed Tatro, 38, sometime between 10:15 p.m. and 10:42 p.m.
The next day, an officer was dispatched to the apartment after Tatro’s son told them she was found dead.
The Chief Medical Examiner later determined that she had been stabbed and slashed 16 times. She also suffered blunt trauma to the head, the DA’s office said.
“Ms. Tatro was a victim of domestic violence,” said District Attorney Timothy J. Shugrue. “We know that Jillian was planning to leave on the Tuesday following her murder. Her death is a tragic example of lethal consequence of domestic violence and the lasting impact these crimes have on families and communities.”
