North Adams police investigating break-in at River Street barber shop

NORTH ADAMS — City police are investigating an early Tuesday break-in at Christopher's Cuts, a River Street barber shop.
At around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, police received a call from a woman on her morning walk who saw the shattered front door of the shop, according to North Adams Police Chief Mark Bailey.
A television was the only item stolen, according to owner Aaron Christopher, who said he was not yet sure how much the damages would cost to repair.
Christopher said his security cameras recorded someone breaking in around 2 a.m. He was later notified of the incident by police. The shop sits in a strip on River Street near the corner of Holden Street.
Christopher's Cuts on River Street in North Adams was broken-into on Tuesday morning. According to police it is an active investigation.
Christopher also said police believe they know who broke in, but Bailey said it was still an active investigation and did not confirm either way.
Bailey said storefront break-ins in the city aren't that common. Christopher said it was the first time his store had been broken into since he opened it seven years ago.
"I feel violated," he said.
