One dead in Pittsfield stabbing, suspect arrested

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - On Friday May 29th, around 10 p.m. the Pittsfield Police Department responded to a report of an assault at a home on Hall Place.
Upon arriving to the home, officers spotted the 36-year-old resident of the home suffering from a life-threatening stab wound. First responders immediately began life saving treatment and transported the victim to Berkshire Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
After an investigation, 24-year-old Zyrus Jaynes of Springfield was arrested on Saturday morning and charged with murder. Jaynes is expected to be arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court on Monday, June 1st.
