One person dead, another injured in Pittsfield shooting

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Just after 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 18th, officers of the Pittsfield Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation as well as multiple 911 calls for a shooting on the intersection of Pleasure Avenue and Tyler Street.
When police arrived, officers noticed two men, aged 38 and 29 from Pittsfield with gunshot wounds. Both of them were transported to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment.
The 38-year-old man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and was released. However, the 29-year-old man had died form his injuries.
The shooting remains under investigation with the Pittsfield Police Department with the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office as officials claim that the shooting was a targeted act.
