PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Last Friday night, we told you that the City of Pittsfield announced there would be no fireworks celebration this year as the city was unable to secure a vendor who had availability.

If that made you sad, we have a good update for you tonight, the city announced this Thursday that the show will go on.

The display is set for Wednesday, July 8th at 9:15 p.m. in the area around that’s thanks to a cancellation in a vendor’s schedule. City officials stressed there will be no public access inside Wahconah Park itself, due to the site being an active construction zone.

Instead, you are encouraged to watch from the Wahconah Park neighborhood and other spots around the city.
