Pittsfield plastic surgeon gives up license after state investigation

PITTSFIELD — A city plastic surgeon has surrendered his medical license, ending a state investigation, according to the Board of Registration in Medicine.
In doing so, Dr. George Csank, who practiced at the Berkshire Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery Center on South Street in Pittsfield until January, is now barred from practicing medicine or renewing his license in Massachusetts and agreed to "make no attempt to seek licensure elsewhere."
Resignation is a disciplinary measure in which a physician under investigation by the board may voluntarily surrender their license to end that investigation.
