PITTSFIELD — A plastic surgeon who surrendered his license to practice medicine earlier this year was under investigation over four allegations of substandard care, according to patient complaint records released by the state Board of Registration in Medicine.

The complaints, which The Eagle obtained through a public records request, allege that patients suffered burns, scarring, disfigurement or other complications after procedures performed by George A.
