PITTSFIELD — Police are investigating the discovery of an “unresponsive” man on the Bousquet Mountain property early Thursday morning.

According to Pittsfield Police Chief Marc Maddalena, staff at the ski area discovered a man behind a garage at 8 a.m. The man “was unconscious and remains unconscious,” Maddalena said.

The man was found on the ski area side of the property, south of Dan Fox Drive. He was not found at the health club located on the road's north side, the chief said.

The man was transported to Berkshire Medical Center, where he remained unresponsive, Maddalena said.

“This male remains unidentified at this time and the circumstances regarding how this male ended up on the property are also unclear,” Maddalena said.

Bousquet Mountain General Manager Kevin McMillan said workers found the man outside a maintenance building, located to the west side of the ski lodge.

The team called 911, and police and emergency medical responders "were right there," McMillan said.
