SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A large police presence spotted tonight near train tracks in Springfield, and we’re working to get you answers on what happened there.

This was the scene when our western mass news crews arrived around 6:45 p.m. on the evening of July 17th. Multiple police cars in the area of 45 Warwick Street, and an ambulance on scene.

Our crews captured police walking along the tracks wearing gloves. We’ve reached out to Springfield Police to learn why they were searching the tracks, and we are awaiting their response.
