Police seize narcotics from abandoned car during property check

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The Holyoke Police Department released a statement saying that on Tuesday, June 2nd, that officers seized a large quantity of narcotics during a property check at 542 South Bridge Street.

Around 9:15 p.m. that day, two police officers on foot patrol noticed four people sitting inside an abandoned vehicle at the property. At sight of the police, the subjects fled from the scene.

Upon investigation of the abandoned vehicle, police noticed a handbag filled with narcotics inside. Inside the bag contained roughly 88 bags of heroin, vials of cocaine and crack-cocaine, as well as marijuana and $108 in cash.

There are no further details at this time.
