Residents run to Randall’s for rocky road

LUDLOW, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The line for ice cream was a long one at Randall’s Farm on Tuesday as temperatures hit record highs.
“That’s it,” said Beverly Hart, a Chicopee resident. “I’m going to go home and chill because it’s too hot outside.”
Hart was one of several customers who took time Tuesday to indulge in a sweet treat in Ludlow. Her flavor of choice: orange pineapple. While she visits Randall’s Farm year-round, she spends a little more time here during this season of the year.
“At least once a week, sometimes twice,” she said.
The owner of Randall’s Farm, Karen Randall, says that the first scorching day of the year usually doesn’t draw too much of a crowd.
That certainly wasn’t the case this Tuesday as residents ran for rocky road.
