SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A city council meeting took place Monday night, determining the fate of a resolution about zoom attendance vs. in-person.

“Our city business and our deliberation becomes way more transparent and way more effective when the councilors are here in the chamber in person,” said Councilor Gerry Martin.

Martin proposed the resolution to have councilors be fully in-person for meetings.

Ultimately, the resolution passed a vote, meaning councilors will no longer be able to attend regular meetings over zoom, but it does not apply to special meetings.

Exceptions can be made if needed.
