ADAMS — Longtime Treasurer Kelly Rice unseated three-term Selectwoman Christine Hoyt in Monday's annual town election.
Rice handily took home the victory for a three-year seat on the Select Board, 633-350, according to unofficial results from the polling station. Residents may have noticed Rice and Hoyt’s battling purple and red campaign signs dotted around town in recent weeks.
Rice recently announced that she was retiring from her longtime post as treasurer and tax collector on May 4, the same day as the election, which was held at the Adams Memorial Building.
In the town's only other contested race, William Schrade III beat Peter Wagner, 649-249, to win a three-year term as assessor. The post was left vacant by George Haddad, who decided not to run again.
Voters also cast ballots for other uncontested seats and town meeting members from all five precincts.

Several incumbents also were reelected, including Moderator Myra Wilk; Park Commissioner Jacob Schutz; Planning Board member David Rhinemiller; and Northern Berkshire Vocational School District Committee member Daniel Maloney Jr.

• Aleta Monecchi, for a five-year term on the Housing Authority;
• Kyle L. Malloy, for a three-year term on the Hoosac Valley Regional School Committee.
Two vacancies failed to garner candidates: A three-year seat on the Cemetery Commission and a four-year seat on the Redevelopment Authority.
The annual town meeting will convene June 22, where members will approve the budget, authorize specific expenditures, approve debt issuance, the use of free cash and other warrant articles yet to be finalized, according to Town Clerk Haley Meczywor.
