CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The first night of extended bar hours is finally here, and it comes as team USA takes the field in a late-night international soccer match.

This Thursday marked the first time Rumbleseat Bar and Grill will take advantage of a new state pilot program allowing approved bars to stay open until 3 a.m. On select nights this summer.

The idea is to give fans a place to watch late-night international soccer matches that would otherwise continue after last call, while also serving people who don’t get off work until late.

The Team USA match against Türkiye is expected to draw some of the biggest crowds yet, making it the perfect opportunity to see how these extended hours work in practice.

We’ll be here throughout the night, talking with fans, checking in with the owner, and seeing whether the extra hours are bringing in more customers and creating the late-night atmosphere state leaders hoped for.
