BOSTON — After the puck eluded Linus Ullmark, giving him his first real goal since returning to Boston, Sean Kuraly knew what he had to do.

The Bruins’ fourth-line center skated behind the net and jumped up into the glass as the fans celebrated on the other side.

The “Kuraly-Leap” or “Kuraleap” was officially back.

“I figured after that one went in, it was overdue,” Kuraly said after the Bruins’ 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on Thursday at TD Garden.. “It wasn’t rehearsed, but the second it went in I knew what I had to do.”

The celebration, which looks like an obstructed Lambeau Leap, was born when he scored two goals including an overtime winner against these same Senators in the 2017 playoffs. He’s done it many times since.

Kuraly has scored a goal earlier this year, but it came with an empty-net, making it not worthy of his first full-fledged Kuraly-Leap since returning.

Kuraly re-signed with the Bruins as a free agent this offseason and fans and old friends began asking him if he was going dust off the old tradition.

“I heard about it a few times,” Kuraly said. “Enough to put it in my head to make sure I did it.”
