Speed limit decreases on road near Amherst College

AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A speed limit change is coming to Amherst.
Police have announced that the speed limit on Northampton Road from University Drive to South Pleasant Street, where Lehrman Stadium is located, has been decreased From 40 mph to 35 mph.
MASSDOT has already changed the signage to reflect the change.
Officials are hoping to make the area safer following the completion of a speed zoning study.
