State Senator Olivera announces $2 million in social program funding

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - More than $2 million is being invested in western Mass. — announced on Friday by State Senator Jake Oliveira. This comes as senators on Beacon Hill unanimously passed A budget topping $63 Billion for Fiscal Year 2027.
The funding will help expand early childhood education; support head start programs and boost local groups serving veterans, older adults, and kids. Another main focus — mental health care, public safety, literacy, and outdoor recreation programs across western Mass.
