Suspect wanted in February shooting turns self in

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A shooting suspect — who police warned was potentially armed and dangerous has turned himself in this week three and a half months after he allegedly left another man critically injured.
41-year-old Robert “Dirt” Rivera was wanted on several violence and firearm related offenses, in connection with the February 10th shooting. Investigators learned Rivera knew the suspect and fired at him after they had an altercation on West Court.
Two teens were arrested in connection later in February. In March, police asked for the public’s help tracking down Rivera sharing these mug shots taken over a 12 year-span from his previous arrests.
Rivera has been in custody since turning himself in at Holyoke District Court on Tuesday.
