The Zoo in Forest Park looks to keep their animals warm

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - If you’re looking for a cause to give back to this holiday season, consider the Zoo in Forest Park. That’s because gift donations are still being matched through the end of the year.
It’s all thanks to the Anthony and Lea Scibelli Charitable Foundation, which is matching all gifts dollar for dollar, up to $20,000 in donations. The money will be used to help with care during the winter months, for supplies including food, hay, heat, bedding, medication, and daily care.
All of the zoo’s 220 animals live there year-round and can’t survive in the wild on their own. Some, like alligators, spider monkeys, and armadillos -- also aren’t native to New England.
To donate, head to the zoo’s website, or send in a check.
