Thousands turn out for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Road Race

HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The Holyoke Saint Patrick’s Committee already hit the ground running with their annual Holyoke Saint Patrick’s Road Race.
Over 6,000 joined together in Holyoke on Saturday for the biggest running event in western Mass.
Western Mass News caught up with race director Brian Donohue to learn what makes this weekend so special, “Holyoke really comes out for St. Patrick’s Day. It’s not just today. It’s tomorrow with the parade as well, but the whole course is lined with people cheering the runners on, and it’s really a fun time.”
Whether you ran the full 10k, walked 2 miles with friends or family or just dressed up to enjoy the festivities, members of the community said it’s the time spent together celebrating the holiday that keeps them coming back to these events.
