Town of Agawam files lawsuit for High School softball to keep playing

AGAWAM, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - After the Agawam High School softball team was denied an appeal to participate in the western Massachusetts Tournament championship, we’re now learning that battle will be taken to court.
Mayor Christopher Johnson directed the town’s law department to file for emergency injunctive relief in Hampden County Superior Court.
The filing seeks to allow the team to play after they beat the Westfield Bombers 6 to 4 in Wednesday’s semifinal matchup.
