UPDATE: As of 2:27 p.m., MassDOT reports that all lanes have reopened.

BECKET — Traffic on Route 20 was reduced to one westbound lane for hours after a tractor trailer overturned Tuesday morning near Greenwater Pond, resulting in a fuel spill.

RW's Towing responded to the scene to assist with cleanup, according to a press release from Becket Police Chief Kristopher McDonough.

As of 1:30 p.m., traffic remained backed up east to Route 8 and as far west as Lee.

Emergency calls regarding the crash were first received at approximately 4:47 a.m., according to the press release. Callers reported that the truck had overturned entirely, initially blocking both lanes of traffic.

Police retrieved the driver, Marco Bonifaz Ona, by smashing the vehicle's driver side window. Ona was treated for a minor injury on site and cited for failure to stay in marked lanes. No other vehicle was involved in the crash.

The Becket Police Department responded to the scene, accompanied by the Lee Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, the Becket Fire Department, the Becket Ambulance Department and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Morning buses for Farmington River Regional School District were delayed as a result of the road closure.

The truck is owned by Central Transport LLC of Evansville, Ind.
