Traffic stop leads to two gun arrests

PALMER, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - An evening traffic stop led to the arrest of two people and the confiscation of two handguns.
Just after 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening, Palmer Police stopped a car on Thorndike Street near the Mass Pike, due to a revoked registration. Upon investigation, officers found guns in both the driver and passenger seats, though neither had a license to carry.
The identities of the two have not been released, however officials said they both are from the Carolinas, where the passenger has a history of gun-related offenses and other warrants.
Bail was set at $2,500 for the driver and $25,000 for the passenger. Both parties will be arraigned at Palmer District Court on Monday.
