SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The Springfield Department of Public Works says it’s moving up it’s pick up times for its municipal trash, recycling, and yard waste due to the heat.

Now through Friday, residents are asked to have their trash and recycling carts on the curb no later than 4 a.m. The same goes for items being picked up for bulk collection.

In addition, the Fourth of July holiday will not impact Friday trash collection so you still need to have your barrel on the curb by 4 a.m.
