Two injured in early morning shooting
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Before 2:30 a.m. early Sunday morning, Springfield Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 100 block of Chestnut Street.
When police arrived, they discovered one man with gunshot wounds and was quickly transported to Baystate Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
A second gunshot victim was taken to Mercy Medical Center in a car and was moved to Baystate with serious injuries.
The names of the victims was not immediately released. The Springfield Police Detective Bureau is currently investigating the incident.
There are no further details at this time.
