LENOX — Two people were injured in separate crashes Friday on Route 7/20 — about 2 miles apart, according to Lenox Police.

Shortly before noon, the driver of a 2013 Mack truck was heading northbound when he apparently ran a red light at Housatonic Street, crashing into a 2021 Honda CRV that was heading west across the intersection, police said.

The driver of the Honda, Judeth Wesley, 73, of Lenox, was transported to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield for treatment of serious injuries. She was listed in stable condition on Monday, according to a hospital spokesman.

The truck driver, David Cardimino, 76, of North Adams, was not injured, police said. He was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop/yield, a marked lanes violation and speeding.

Lenox Police were assisted at the scene by the Lenox Fire Department, Lenox Ambulance and the Massachusetts State Police truck team. The crash remains under investigation.

Later that afternoon, police responded to a two-car crash just a couple miles north on the highway.

Jonathan Goewey, 37, of Monterey, was heading southbound in a Chevy Colorado when he slowed for a vehicle waiting to turn left onto High Crest Road, the access road to Twelve Oaks condominiums, when he was struck from behind by a 2026 Jeep driven by Andrew Goss, 20, of Lee.

Goss was transported to BMC, where he also was reported in stable condition. Goewey was not injured.

Lenox Police were assisted by the Lenox Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
