UMass professor to receive award for helping advance food science

AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A UMass Amherst professor is being recognized with one of the highest honors someone in his field can receive.
Doctor David Julian McClements is a 2026 achievement award recipient from the institute of food technologists. The non-profit works to advance food science and how we use it, on a global scale.
Dr. McClements will be receiving $5,000 for winning the prestigious “Distinguished Lipid and Flavor Science Award”.
He’ll be honored during the ceremony in Chicago, July 12th.
