CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - It’s Christmas Eve and Western Mass News tracked down Santa Claus that evening. We headed on over to outside WESTCOMM Regional Dispatch Center in Chicopee with more after learning about their tracking operations for tonight.

Kids from across western Mass called into WESTCOMM following Santa’s journey in real time as he travels across the globe. WESTCOMM’s hotline featured up to the minute updates of the jolly old man as him and his reindeer fly through the skies.

Earlier this evening we spoke with Anthony Massoia, he told Western Mass News this is the first year WESTCOMM is helping track Santa, and gave us some insight on how it all got started, “we wanted to do more recognition wise, a little more community outreach and growing up this was always something me and my sisters did every Christmas was track Santa and it was a big deal for us. I have more son here and he’s really excited about it and we wanted to spread that out as far as we could.”
