WestMasster’s host 4th annual charity event

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - With the long and hot summer days upon us, people usually take time to unwind in their back yards and play cornhole, horseshoes, or even ladderball but a different kind of yard game event in West Springfield is supporting a good cause.
The MassWesters held their fourth annual charity games event on Saturday afternoon. It took place at the Morgan Road Pavilion in West Springfield and dozens of people showed up to share their support.
“It started off with about 20 people, 20 teams at my house, and it’s turned into this fundraiser over the last couple of years,” the organizer of the event Thai Bui said new people in need are picked every year that the event will raise money for.
This year, a young boy dealing with kidney failure, Lincoln Auclair, was one of them. His mom said she’s hopeful they’ll find a kidney donor by the end of the year, “we’re working out a kidney donor, and I’m a possible donor, I’m going through testing right now. They’re hoping to have him transplanted by the end of the year.”
Lincoln’s dad said they still have a long way to go but that the support from the community has been humbling.
