Worcester Railers becomes ECHL affiliate of the Springfield Thunderbirds
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The Worcester Railers Hockey Club has reached an affiliation agreement with the Springfield Thunderbirds through the 2030-31 season.
The club made the announcement on Saturday, June 20th. The affiliation will begin with the 2026-2027 hockey season. The Railers will also be affiliated with the Saint Louis Blues of the National Hockey League as the first change in eight seasons.
Railers Chief Operating Officer Michael Myers said the organization is excited about what the future holds and that they took proximity, resources, and track records into account when making this decision.
