Funeral held for fallen Mass. State Police trooper

SALEM, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Family and friends, along with fellow law enforcement from across the state gathered to pay their respects at the funeral for fallen Massachusetts State Trooper Kevin Trainor.
Troopers gathered in a sea of blue along the road which led up to a church in Salem, under a large American flag, suspended high above by fire trucks.
Hundreds lined up the streets in respect, as mourners made their way inside.
A week ago this Wednesday, Trainor was killed by a driver going in the wrong direction on Route 1 in Lynnfield. Officials said his shift had just ended at around 2 a.m. That morning when he received a call about that driver.
Minutes after responding, Trainor’s unmarked SUV and the other driver’s vehicle collided, killing both of them.
