Gov. Healey denounces federal funding cuts to mental health programs

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Governor Maura Healey publicly condemned President Trump’s cancellation of millions in mental health and substance use disorder grants for Massachusetts Wednesday.
The governor’s letter said that both the Department of Public Health and Mental Health have received notice, that more than $5 million in grants were terminated effective immediately.
The affected grants include services for suicide prevention, psychosis prevention, and drug misuse, and overall harm reduction.
