One person hospitalized after fire in Southbridge

SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Southbridge Fire Officials said one person was hospitalized after a fire tore through a multi-family home Thursday causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.
The fire broke out on a back porch just before 12 p.m. on Twinehurst Street, spreading to the second and third floors. Neighboring homes also sustained exposure damage, about 35 to 45 firefighters were called in.
All residents made it out, but one person was brought to the hospital for shortness of breath from smoke inhalation. The State Fire Marshal’s Office says the cause is still under investigation, but they don’t think it’s suspicious.
