STURBRIDGE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A person is fighting for their life and another hospitalized in critical condition, after a crash in Sturbridge Thursday afternoon. Fire crews responded to Main Street, near Turner Field around 2:45 p.m., one person was trapped in their car.

It took several minutes of work, using rescue tools, to pry the person out, who was then rushed to the hospital seriously injured.

Meantime, crews began performing life-saving measures on the other person involved until a medical helicopter arrived to bring them to UMass Medical Center.

The two people’s current conditions are unknown at this time, as Sturbridge Police continue investigating.
