At least 1 dead, nearly a dozen injured in mass shooting at a building in Texas, police say

MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA/Gray News) — At least one victim is dead and multiple people are injured after a shooting at a building in Midland, Texas.
The suspected shooter is also dead, according to city officials.
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded Friday morning to an active shooter at a building on West Wall Street, according to city officials.
Midland Police Chief Seth Herman Snow said officers heard gunfire coming from the building and immediately began securing and clearing the area.
Authorities said the suspected shooter was barricaded inside a building for hours.
Officials said there are at least 11 victims.
A local hospital confirmed it is treating nine victims, four of them are in operating rooms and five victims are stable.
Officials continue to urge the public to avoid the area and follow all instructions from law enforcement as the situation remains active.
