Average gas price up 2 cents in 24 hours, AAA says

(Gray News) - Gas prices are up again on Tuesday.
AAA said Tuesday that regular gas is averaging $4.14 a gallon. That is 2 cents up from Monday’s $4.12 average.
Gas prices were below $3 a couple of days before the United States and Israel launched attacks in Iran in late February.
On Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump warned that a “whole civilization will die tonight” if Tehran does not meet his latest deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Otherwise, he said the U.S. will destroy Iranian power plants and bridges.
The U.S. oil benchmark, WTI, is topping out at more than $116 a barrel Tuesday morning. That is more than double its price in January. Brent crude is up as well, trading around $110 a barrel.
Last week, the average price of regular gas in the United States crossed the $4 mark.
It is the first time that has happened since 2022.
