(Gray News) – Some canned Pedigree dog food has been voluntarily recalled for possible metal and plastic contamination.

The recall includes cans of High Protein Chopped Chicken and Duck Flavor for dogs with lot codes 613C3KKCFC and 613C1KKCFC, according to the FDA.

The FDA said the dog food “appears to have been fraudulently diverted and sold into the marketplace in the United States.”

No other Pedigree or Mars Petcare U.S. Inc. products are affected or being recalled.

Health risks to dogs ingesting sharp foreign objects can range from choking to lacerations or blockages in the gastrointestinal tract.

There have been no reports of pet illnesses related to this recall.

If you have any cans of the recalled dog food, do not feed it to animals. Contact Pedigree for a replacement at 1-800-525-5273 or https://www.pedigree.com/update.
