Student dead, another injured in shooting at Kentucky State University, officials say

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT/Gray News) - At least one person is dead after a shooting on Kentucky State University’s campus Tuesday.
The Frankfort Police Department said it responded to an “active aggressor” on KSU’s campus at about 3:35 p.m.
A university official confirmed to WKYT that a shooting happened in the area of south campus.
Frankfort police report that a suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The suspect has been identified as Jacob Lee Board, 48, of Evansville, Indiana. He is charged with murder and first-degree assault.
Police say the suspect does not attend the university.
Kentucky State University confirmed that two students were shot. One of the students has died and the other is in stable but critical condition and receiving medical care.
It’s unclear if there are any other injuries reported at this time.
Kentucky Gov. Beshear said he was aware of the shooting and is working to learn more information.
“We are aware of a reported shooting at Kentucky State University in Frankfort,” Beshear wrote in a post on X. “At this time, we are aware of some injuries. We will share more information as available. Law enforcement are on scene, and a suspect has been arrested. Let’s pray for all those affected.”
