1 person seriously injured in Springfield fire

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – One person has been hospitalized after a fire Thursday morning in Springfield.
Springfield Fire Capt. Drew Piemonte said that crews responded to Essex Street, in the city’s Indian Orchard neighborhood, around 11 a.m.
Two children were rescued from the fire. One adult was taken to an area hospital with what Piemonte described as serious injuries.
Western Mass News has a crew headed to the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.
