3 arrested after shooting near Holyoke nightclub

HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Three suspects have been arrested following a weekend shooting in Holyoke.
Holyoke Police said an officer was dispersing a large crowd outside a nightclub near 500 High Street around 10:15 p.m. Saturday when they heard a gunshot nearby. He then ran to the area of the gunfire and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers, who arrived to help at the scene, arrested three people - 21 year old Pedro Martinez of Holyoke, 24 year old Damien Emiliano of Springfield and 28 year old Frederick Wiggins of Springfield – for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
The case remains under investigation by the Holyoke Police criminal investigations bureau.
