5 suspects facing charges after Springfield drug investigation

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Five people now facing charges in Springfield after police seized narcotics during a search of an apartment on Fort Pleasant Avenue Tuesday night.

The search followed a months-long drug distribution investigation with a 17-year-old girl as the suspect. She, along with four other suspects ranging in age from 39 to 48, were taken into custody after 4 p.m. Officers seized loose ammunition, fentanyl, and both crack and powder cocaine.

All five - 39-year-old Michael Baez, 47-year-old Monica Young, 48-year-old Vincent Mondon, 45-year-old Regina Riopel, all of Springfield, and the teenager - are now facing charges, though information related the teen’s identity and charges remain limited due to her age.
