AGAWAM, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- Sunday’s big game will lead to big watch parties and big appetites and one local restaurant said Friday they’re almost out of food before the game even kicks off.

The premier sporting event in the country is almost here, which means people throughout the Bay State and beyond will consume a lot of commercials, beverages, and wings. “Chicken wings are just kind of...it gives them their own day and I think it’s just a fun food to eat. I think the fact that it’s kind of messy and kind of adventurous, I think people enjoy it,” said Ed Borgatti Jr., owner of E.B.’s Restaurant in Agawam.

Borgatti told Western Mass News that this Sunday is their single biggest day of the year and it’s even bigger with the Patriots playing, hoping to win their seventh Lombardi Trophy. “It does get busier. It got...where the Patriots are in it for so many years that people kind of got numb to it, so we kind of had a certain level we were at, which was very busy, and now with the sudden jump to them being in it again, it took an even bigger jump than it normally does,” he explained.

For 40 years, E.B’s has been one of the go-to spots to order from before any big game. Their secret? Borgatti can’t give that away, but he did share that it’s a combination of things. “I think it’s the fact that we use fresh wings and we use a jumbo wing and it just makes it meatier, so the sauce doesn’t soak through the entire wing. So, you’re actually tasting the chicken meat with the sauce and the sauces are just delicious,” he added.

If you’re looking to get your hands on some wings for this weekend, you’re not alone. “Order early. I want the people to know to order early, get your orders in. We’re already close. We fill time slots and we’ve already got a couple of time slots closed out, so we’re only taking orders for a couple more days. We could actually get to the point where we’re not taking any orders at all on the actual Sunday,” Borgatti said.
