Amherst officials reveal names for 2 new schools

AMHERST, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The Amherst-Pelham School Committee has revealed the newly-approved names for the district’s two new schools.
The new elementary school will be called Amethyst Brook Elementary School, while the new sixth grade program will go by Chestnut Street Academy.
The committee choosing those names after input from students, staff, and families and reflect an aspect of local history.
The district will provide more updates on these schools as they continue to take shape.
