SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- Calling all runners and animal lovers, it’s almost time to sign up for the 4th Annual Jack Rome Memorial Walk/Run.

Registration for this year’s event will officially open on Monday, February 2nd. The run itself will be held on Saturday, May 2nd.

The event, named in honor of auto dealer Gary Rome’s dog Jack, is held to benefit the animals at the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center in Springfield.

Refreshments will be served after the run, as well as other family- and pet-friendly activities.

Western Mass News will also be there, as the Foundation for TJO Animals was voted by our employees to be our station charity, so be sure to sign up. We’ll see you there!
