Athol man convicted on child rape, abuse charges
GREENFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- An Athol man has been convicted of 10 different crimes related to the years-long sexual abuse of a child.
Kenneth Johnson, 63, was found guilty Wednesday for rape of a child under 14, indecent assault, and witness intimidation.
According to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, the abuse took place between 2017 and 2020 and involved a young girl under Johnson’s care, starting when she was approximately 10 years old.
Johnson’s wife, Shelley, has also been found guilty of witness intimidation for telling the girl not to report the abuse to police.
Johnson will be sentenced on February 18 in Franklin County Superior Court.
