Brethren Community Foundation honors local residents at Juneteenth event

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Juneteenth celebrations continued Saturday at the Raymond Jordan Senior Center in Springfield.
The Brethren Community Foundation presented scholarship and community service awards to community members there. There were singers and vendors, as well as jump roping.
The ceremony ran from noon until 3 p.m. to commemorate 161 years since the end of slavery in America.
