Brush fire closes part of Bay Street in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A brush fire has closed part of a busy Springfield road.
Springfield Fire Capt. Drew Piemonte said the fire, which is near 945 Bay Street, has been put out and no injuries were reported.
However, crews remain at the scene and that has caused Bay Street to be closed between Tapley Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Drivers are being advised to seek alternate routes.
