GREENFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Part of Interstate 91 is closed in Greenfield due to a nearby brush fire.

MassDOT said that one lane is currently closed along I-91 south, near Exit 43. The closure is expected to remain in place through the evening commute and drivers should expect delays.

David Celino, chief fire warden for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), said that there are multiple fires that were started by a train in the area of Wisdom Way. He added that local fire crews, as well as crews from New Hampshire and Vermont, have responded to the scene.

Western Mass News has a crew headed to the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.
